Owner Robert Stern Sr. has been in the swimming pool field for over 30-five years. They make a fine liner, they make high quality covers. I install liners and work on pools professionally, and anytime there has been an issue, (rarely) that was their fault, they fixed it. Really any negative review on here is from with somebody that a. Is referring to an issue that was the fault of the installer, and they were defecting to Dover in front of the customer in an attempt to get out of owning up to their mistake and reinstalling it, or by a customer that doesn't know how to balance their chemicals, either pH out of wack or they add wayyyy to much chlorine or adding granular shock directly to the pool etc.
In this industry vinyl material basically comes from the same manufactures. Dover doesn't have material that somehow fades faster than others. Lol. If a seam fails, that's one of the only times it's usually the liner companies fault. Every other case here is a classic not taking responsibility for my mistake because I don't want to pay for it so let's blame somebody. and it's a shame Dover takes the brunt of other people's ignorance through bad reviews on Google. I go to them for liners and covers and likely always will.

BUYER BEWARE! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Purchased a pool cover that is less than 4 years old. It is brittle, ripping at the seams and tearing in random places. Called and explained the issue and was told to email pictures. After almost 2 weeks we never heard back from them and had to repeatedly call them. Finally spoke to them and besides being rude, they lie. Told me that they had already fixed my pool cover once before, told them that they never fixed it, I had never spoken to them before until this point.
Then he switched his story and said my cover was coming apart because I allow my dogs to run on it. I don't have dogs. We have a 10 year warranty and it means nothing to them. I went and spoke to my local pool company where I had originally purchased this Dover Pool cover from and was told by the owner of the pool company that we were not their only customers that had this problem and they no longer do business with Dover because of their shady business practice.
Even if I had to pay a percentage to replace the pool cover, as stated in the warranty, I would accept that. But arguing with me and lying and not even wanting to address the issue doesn't make for an upstanding business. DO NOT purchase anything from this company.

Our original liner lasted 16 years; we do not know the brand. We have always been meticulous about PH, chlorine, cleanliness, etc. Our regular pool people and swimmers always comment on the pool's cleanliness, No one gets red eyes swimming here.nor do they get sick from our pool. It is regularly tested with fresh test strips and then results are confirmed with computerized testing at our local pool experts' shop.
We replaced that original liner with one from Dover in 2012. It started fading last year and is really fading now. The warranty, although apparently standard in this industry, covers nothing on this problem. This Dover liner was installed by our Newburgh, N.Y. local pool experts, Galati.they are business that has been around for decades and have outstanding reviews.they are the only ones we allow to touch our pool.so we cannot blame this on the installers.
Note that the fading is random.not in stress points exclusively.and if you look closely, you will see fading, NOT reflections. UPDATE: contacted Dover per their response. They were very professional. Water testing results will be sent to them, and they will be contacting the vinyl manufacturer.

I would give Dover Vinyl Products ZERO stars if possible. My pool was installed by Dover pools 20 years ago and the original liner lasted 15 years. I had a Dover Vinyl Products Liner installed 5 years ago and opened my pool this year to an empty mess. The liner failed and as you can see still looks new! Dover offered an arbitrary "NO" to the warranty without sending a person to verify reason for failure and offered no relief during these very trying times. ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING A NEW LINER I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST LOOKING ELSEWHERE AS THE WARRANTY THEY OFFER IS USELESS. THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND CARE LITTLE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Unless you enjoy spending thousands every few years avoid Dover Vinyl Products.
