Colony Pool Service

Service has deteriorated in 2022. My pool is dark green in between service 2x so far. I called twice this week to ensure they would come out to correct it. Was assured that service would be here Friday and no one showed up, no phone call or email. I'm stuck with an unusable pool for a pool party. I never had any issues like this prior to this year. Disappointed

Communication was the problem and the lack of customer service. All services are sold a la.carte. Unfortunately, we weren't offered of all the services necessary to successfully open our pool. We ended up paying the price we would have normally for a full service (which is the same all the other local companies charge) while unknowingly agreeing for half the service.

The day the serviceman was scheduled no one showed up or called, I had to contact them, and the person still never came. The next business day still no communication I had to contact them again. When the servicemen finally came, they barley wanted to say hello and the passenger had his foot hanging out of the window! Needless to say, that experience wasn't the best, they left never informing us that they were done, no pool updates, suggestions nothing!

In addition, our pump was not properly primmed and they left a few screws raised around the pool which is a trip hazard. Upon speaking to the owner, he was not very helpful. No apology and basically said, it's your pool do it yourself and I'm doing you a favor by not charging you to come back out. Never again will I work with this company.

Never answered the phone. Called several times during normal hours and after 10 rings it went to voicemail.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I was happy with this company UNTIL they were purchased by the new owner. I have spent a lot of monies having a new pump and filter system installed last year. When the filter was installed they cracked the pipes and it was to be corrected this year, however, the NEW owner is NOT honoring the commitment and wants to charge for the repair, even though the replacement is under warranty.

It is stupid that he would throw away many years of service for a couple of hundred dollars. DO NOT use this company, they are terrible and their customer service is also terrible.

Have used his service for opening, closing and pool maintenance for over five years. They are very good at what they do, and have the heavy duty equipment to do things quickly. I recommend a maintenance contract that keeps things in shape, rather than a call to them to bail you out of a visit from the swamp monster. I experienced the swamp monster in my pool in Florida, cost me enough for three years of normal professional maintenance from a company like Colony. Completely drain the pool, system followed by acid wash to kill the black mold.

We have used Colony for everything from emergency o ring purchases to ordering a replacement pool cover, and they are always pleasant and quick to help. I always feel like a valued customer and get answers to every question. We will continue to trust Colony with our pool needs!

Terrible company to deal with. Bought a NEW filter and pump end of last season. The installer cracked the pipe during installation, said would repair it this season because was under warranty. Now the company was sold, and the NEW owner is not honoring his commitments. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, BUYER BEWARE...

They do good work when they get here. The problem is when you contact them they never tell you when and if their coming. The communication with this company is non-existent. It's like you have to beg them to take your money? I also loved that when I setup my opening this year on their form it says ask for an estimate for weekly service. I checked it. Never heard anything then after a few weeks I asked them about my request and they said they were full. Again, no communication.

Responsive, helpful, courteous, and they keep your pool water crystal clear. Maintaining a pool is complicated, but Colony makes it so easy. The technicians are respectful and thorough. They are constantly helping you understand your pool and teach you tips to extend the life of your equipment and keep your water crystal clear. They suggest repairs and always take the most economic and beneficial route for you.

During weekly maintenance, they spot problems and suggest easy fixes and follow through. If an issue arises between scheduled visits, all you have to do is call and they respond quickly and resolve the problem. Very happy with their service and would not go anywhere else. Also, they truly appreciate your business and aim to please, and succeed at doing so.

We had originally been thinking about finding another pool company but we have had a great experience with Brad from Colony pool. He has been very attentive to our pool issues and is always available to discuss what's going on/ recommend what we should do. So far he's been involved in replacing two pool lights, a hot tub heater, a filter housing, and a few small fixes. Everything was done when he said it would be and with fair pricing. We are hoping that this level of service continues.

Colony Pools is my go to company when I need repairs to my pump and equipment. We have been using them for several years now. We also have them for closing the pool.

The folks at Colony Pool Service are extremely responsive and do great work at very reasonable prices. The guys that come out have always been professional, on time and very helpful. I recommend them very highly!

We bought this house with a pool last year - never had any experience with a home pool. We called Colony at the very busy start up time in May and they arranged to open the pool and get us set up in several successive visit. The team was very responsive, and sensitive to our ignorance. They went far out of their way to get it started, even though we were not well-prepared. Of course, we had them return this year! Even the manager Jeremy came out when the schedule was tight and he was short staffed.

Had them close my pool last year and they were terrible. Did not do the complete job that was listed in the contract. The contract stated that they were to rinse out the filter grids. After they left, i checked out the pool and pool area. I noticed that my hose was never used and then checked all around the area and didn't see a drop of DE. I suspected they never rinsed my filter grids.

I called the company and spoke to the manager and told him my concerns. He was very defensive and said that their workers are instructed to leave the area clean. I told them there is no way they can rinse the filters without leaving any trace of DE. He said he would talk with the crew and call me back, which he never did. Since the pool was winterized I didn't open the filter until spring and my filter grids were caked with DE, it didn't even look like they backwashed the filter.

They didn't even clean out the filter basket! I will never use this company again! The crew was terrible. Never knocked on the door to let us know they were here. They blasted music with foul language (luckily kids in neighborhood were at school, or I would have told them to turn it off). They knew we were home, but never knocked to tell us they were done. After they left, I went out to the pool area and noticed they yanked out one of our lights around the pool. they didn't even try to put it back or tell us it happened.

Thank you colony pools for all your hard work to get our pool from the black lagoon to a beautiful blue oasis. my kids are extremely excited and we all appreciate your time and dedication!

Recent service call result: showed up at agreed time, clearly and politely explained what they intended to accomplish, worked very hard with no breaks (2 hour service call) and got the job done. This is consistent with my experience with numerous service calls over the years. Also a plus, the owner is hands on. Highly recommend Colony Pool Service of Delaware.

Ordered a new sand filter which was installed promptly and works great. Overall good experience. Customer service over the phone could be improved but overall the job got done and it was done well.

Colony Pool has opened and closed my pool for many years. Their service team is excellent. They are reliable and on time. Because of their good record of service with us, we hired them this summer to replaster our pool and to install a new cover, we were very happy with the results. If you like your contractors/vendors to do high quality work for reasonable prices and to do it on time and right, then Colony Pool is for you.

In a day and age where business is all about electronic communication and little personal contact, it's refreshing to do business with a company who hasn't lost the personal touch and provides quality service. Whether it's the person at the store, someone helping me with a pool problem, the person servicing my pool/pool equipment or the person who handles invoices, Colony Pool has great employees who always take care of me. They are friendly, professional and helpful. I've been doing business with them for many years and intend to to business with them for many more.
