Modern Comfort installed our above ground pool back in 2005. The materials they used including the equipment, Pool Pump and Chlorine Generator are still in use today. It was simply time for a new liner, because after 16 years, the liner was fading to white. The aluminum walls had natural corrosion and needed repair. We naturally called Modern Comfort.

As expected, they were terribly backed up with work. After explaining our problem of potential wall collapse due to a drained pool and now partial inground area having no water to hold back the surrounding ground, Modern Comfort came to the rescue. In just a few hours, their amazing crew had the old liner out, walls repaired and then covered in foam and new liner installed. Pool filled and now enjoying it again and expecting it to go another 16 years. Thank you so much!

Called modern comfort for a pool opening they told me i need a new filter and wanted 2200 dollars for it. I called another pool company they said nothing is wrong with the filter and is working. When I bought the house 2 years ago I got the pool inspected and everything is good. I called for a refund and they still told me my filter is no good and theirs rust on the band. Theirs no rust just paint chips I was also told theirs damage inside the filter and theirs none I personally looked over everything with the second pool company and they said theirs no damage my pool is now running fine for some reason I can't reply to you. Why shame on me if you would like to come to my house and show me rust your welcome to come

This company is the worst They ruined my backyard - my new pavers were all scratched up by them not putting something down as they were using their bob cat to dig.

Pol was installed in a timely fashion and communications between Modern Comfort and myself where always positive and productive. Great installation crews and great project management ( even though we are dealing with material shortages due to the pandemic) and great office staff. Have nothing bad to say

The owner, Bruce, is very experienced, knowledgeable and as honest as the day is long. He does what he says he will do. He has a good team and he is a hands on owner, supervising. I had a new liner installed recently, few years back a loop lock, cover installed, had him close my pool as well. You cannot go wrong using Modern Comfort Service: General repairs & maintenance

First and foremost, Bruce in the modern comfort team are nothing but professional in every aspect of their business. I don't usually write reviews, but certainly felt compelled to write one now regarding our beautiful pool and the professionalism of how quickly and efficiently they not only put in the pool, but helped us design everything is well; couldn't be happier. Lastly, when we did need them to come back for a routine service; they were timely, punctual and professional. Have recommended Bruce to over a dozen clients and will continue to do so!

Our pool was struck by lightning during a very bad electrical storm a few weeks ago. Bruce came to see the damage and wrote an estimate promptly so we could get things going with the home owners insurance company. We are extremely happy with the installation of our pool this summer. The owner Bruce was extremely honest and his timeline of installation was spot on what he had promised back in the early spring. I have spoken to a few people who used a different company and they did not have the same experience as us at all - delays, unavailable parts, long installation time, etc. They worked as best they could around our landscaping. The owner was onsite most days checking on the installation. I highly recommend using this company.

A huge "Thank You" to Bruce and his installation crew for the wonderful job they did replacing our semi-inground pool. We had a fire in our yard that took out most of the pool that Modern Comfort had installed 27 years ago. Just the other day the crew put the finishing touches on the new pool, and we will be ready to enjoy it again next season. In a year when many homeowners were looking to add pools to their yards, and in which supplies and material were in short supply, Bruce kept at it until he had everything we needed. A very dedicated outfit who puts customers first. We look forward to many more years of swimming. Outstanding work!

Modern comfort pools is good for the sales pitch don't ever use them again after that they do not follow through.

I needed to replace my DE filter and pump as well as the multi-port valve. A friend recommended Modern Comfort Pools. Compared to a few companies I contacted, Bob gave me quick and precise response. I decided to go with Modern Comfort Pools. It is fortunate that we got the work scheduled very quickly in this high demanding season. Their price is reasonable, the service is very professional. I am glad I chose their service and would recommend their service.

I'd give them no stars for terrible customer service. This place is for the birds, seriously, don't waste your time. Read the other reviews for Modern Comfort and drive on by.

Spent over $6000 for my new LOOP LOCK cover from Modern Comfort. The cover came with hardware to anchor the cover to the brick work and landscaping. The company used 17 new anchors and KEPT the rest (LOOP LOCK sent 50 units). After speaking to the owner Bruce on October 29th asking him for the remaining anchors, his response was "We'll see what I can do".

After finishing the job yesterday, October 31st, the installers did NOT leave the rest of the materials which I PAID for. My phone calls to Modern Comfort were unanswered. Although the installers were very good, they left cigarette butts and their drink containers at the job site.

They installed a liner on n schedule and we'll done. That's when the problems started it took them almost a year to finish the job which included replacing coping. I would be weary of any commitments on when a job would be completed

I just want to thank Bruce and his team. My in-ground pool was put in this past May. any little issues we had with the pool Bruce was super attentive and responded to any question and emails very quickly his staff is wonderful., THE BEST CUSTOMERS SERVICE. Well, finally opened the pool this year & guess what? The patio is cracked & sinking right where these guys drove in 2 extra well points. For no reason! All they had to do was come prepared with 2 pumps! These guys are the worst & when things go wrong, instead of manning up & taking care of things, they put their heads down & run. I'm too disgusted to waste another second of my time on Modern Comfort & Bruce. At least on this forum.

The woman who answers the phone is reliably rude and will not miss a chance to speak over you. They are not competitively priced, nor is there service good. I've used them for years and I'm so over it. Save yourself some trouble and go elsewhere. I am not a complainer. This is my first yelp review ever, but it is well deserved

They've done a lot of work for us over the years and we have never had anything but good experiences. Bruce is always pleasant and helpful.

Bruce the owner is a terrible business man, He thinks he is the only pool company on Long island.

Had a 16x32 in ground put in Sept. Great bunch of workers Bruce was always aval. For inspections along the way. Love my my New Salt water inground. Highly Recommend.! Great job. My Grand kids are Delighted!

Installed custom lighting which was not working from day one. Refuses to help rectify problem. No integrity. Look at his reviews elsewhere. Bruce is nice, except when it comes to stand behind his shoddy work.

Had an inground pool liner replaced by them two weeks ago. Workmanship was horrible. They used the wrong screws, left dangerous debris around the yard and did not clean up. They also removed sand and threw it behind our trees in the corners of the yard. They should be embarrassed about the quality of their services. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!

I'd like to preface this by saying that this is my first ever review on Yelp. I feel passionately enough about my experience with Modern Comfort thus far that I feel compelled to write it. As of now, my experience with this company has been nothing but a lie. Everything that we have been told by Bruce has been the exact opposite of what has happened. Here's my current list of lies: 1.

Pool will be installed in one day 2. Pool will be in stock within one week 3. Pool will be started tomorrow 4. Pool will be finished tomorrow 5. All of the parts are there. I double checked everything myself. 6. Pool will be started tomorrow (again) 7. The missing part is in the warehouse. 8. Pool will be started tomorrow. 9. I couldn't call you back.

I was in the field. (Bruce has never showed up at my house while "in the field") 10. I have the best prices because of x, y, z As of today, July 7, our pool "will be started tomorrow." I'm not holding my breath. The giant hole in my backyard looks like it's going to be a permanent fixture. If we were being told the truth regarding our status with everything, this review would be highly different or wouldn't even exist at all and I'd still have no experience with Yelp. In hindsight, however, I would never go with this company. Hopefully I'll have a more positive update within the next few days.

Last year they closed my pool. When they opened the pool it was full of slime on the bottom and I was told it happens. I found out from a man that left modern comfort that they used the wrong shock when they closed pools and the knew it but used it anyway. I had to pay extra to have my pool power vacuumed. This year I called about a problem with my salt water system I'm waiting 5 days for a return call. They are good at taking your money and that's all. They lie right to your face. Find another pool company.

These guys are great. Spoke to Bruce about getting another pool liner and the service was outstanding. On time, reasonable pricing and fantastic clean up. They even took the old pool liner with them rather than leave it at the curb. Bruce was very accommodating to get the work done before the 4th of July Weekend. Did receive a call to make sure I was satisfied with the service. If you have a semi in ground pool - this is the place to go.

Update: Bruce the owner contacted me directly and was completely unaware of our specific issue. He told me that he had received numerous complaints about the scheduler who hung up on us when we called trying to get our issue resolved, and told me he had been fired a few weeks ago. I give him huge credit for addressing his personnel issue, and even more credit for contacting me and offering to make things right. I'll definitely give them a second chance, and wanted to be sure to update everyone on the latest and adjust his rating. I'll let you know how the fall closing and new cover installation go.

Thanks Bruce. Never ever use this company. They don't show up when they say they will, don't finish the job, and you're stuck having to do it yourself or get another company to help you. And to think I almost recommended them to two of my friends that want to convert to salt water, and was going to use them for my new looploc cover. Never now! Stay away, I have to pick one star but they don't deserve any.

We used modern comfort to replace my pool liner on my semi inground pool. I called bruce, who was very nice on the phone and told him that he should come out to check my pool out and tell me which direction i should go. The wall was pushed in about 6" near the bottom of the pool. He tells me there is no need for him to come to my house because that wall thats pushed in is a result of water getting behind my old liner and washing the sand away and that it would all be fixed with a new liner.

So i order a 48" liner with a pattern. The installers come to do the job and i get a call from bruces son mike "the installer" saying that they can not do the job because the wall must be repaired before installing the new liner. It will be an additional 800.00 to dig up the ground and repair the wall along with them ripping the deck up for which i am responsible for putting back.

I tell him that this i why i specifically requested that somebody come out and tell me what i am dealing with. He tells me he agrees with me and that he will have a talk with his father about this. OK. So the day they are scheduled to come repair the wall, no show and no call. I called him multiple times and no answer. Then during a family bbque the next weekend a crew shows up to do half the job.

They ripped the deck up and dug a hole and left saying mike will be coming this week to finish it up. I get a call from mike the next day saying i am going to need a WHOLE NEW POOL at the cost of 8 or 9 grand along with ripping up the remainder of my deck. He says the wall is too damaged to do the liner. I am dumbfounded at this point. So my wife and i are contemplating my next move and i get another call from mike, this time he tells me i already paid for a new liner and he will come instal it and try and repair the wall.

Well what do i have to lose at this point. He comes and installs the new liner and repairs the wall. We agreed on 800.00 additonal to repair the wall and he tries getting another 200.00 out of me because it was more "work" then he anticipated. I declined. So now the new liner is in and the pattern we chose is on the OUTSIDE of the pool. They ordered me a liner for a 54" pool!

So the extra money i paid for the pattern of my choice went out the window. Mike tells me i should call bruce and take it up with him. At this point i just gave up and said just fill the pool up. They filled the pool up 1ft and said they would be back after the liner stretched so they could install my pool light. They came back and did the light but never filled the dirt back in next to the pool where they dug it out and repaired the wall. I just did it myself. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

We had modern comfort pools come and take care of our inground pool a few times, and everytime I dealt with the office it was always a wonderful experience. They were prompt and honest about what needed to be done and just got the job done! Love them!
