Superior Solar

I used Solar Source to install panels for my pool four years ago. That experience was pretty decent. I haven't had any issues with the product. I needed to have my tile roof replaced. The roofing company had somebody they use for this purpose, but I went back to Solar Source to take the panels down and put them back up. Solar Source was $400 more, but I wanted to make sure any warranties wouldn't be invalidated.

I found out a this time that they had installed different panels than were listed on my contract at the initial install. There were supposed to be 7 of a certain size but they had instead installed 8 smaller ones. I was not notified of this change at the time and I don't really know what the cost difference should have been or the difference in heating output or why this change was even made in the first place.

The cost for panel removal and replacement is based on the quantity and not the size. They adjusted their quote for the panel move to match the contract, which seemed very fair to me. From there the experience was very different as they definitely don't prioritize customers with panel moves as opposed to their install jobs. They only do panel moves on Fridays and its a minimum of two weeks out.

For taking the panels down for the roof install, it was two weeks. When the roof was complete, it was over three weeks from the time I called to get it scheduled, which took two phone calls. They showed up at 8 am on that morning. It started raining so they had to quit. It rained for 20 minutes and then was a bright sunny day. They didn't come back.

I called the office that same day to reschedule. They said they'd call me to reschedule. Two days into the following week, I had to call again. At that point it was another two weeks out because other customers were scheduled in front of me. I was unhappy due to not being able to put my car in my garage (holding solar panels for months) and not being able to use my pool for Memorial Day guests.

I felt they should figure out how to work it into their schedule since they abandoned the job and didn't return the day it rained for 20 minutes. Not that I don't understand they can't work on the roof in the rain, but they could have come back. The lady on the phone offered an additional discount, but that was not provided at billing time. When I reached out, they responded that they felt that discount they gave me up front for the variance in the product they installed vs what they contracted four years ago was sufficient for their bad service this time.

My advice to anyone looking at this company is to make sure they deliver the product they write in your contract and also don't use them if you need your panels moved for a roofing install.

I requested quotes from 5 different solar companies. I had lengthy discussions with each, each providing me, a solar novice, with good information. Ultimately, the reason I picked Solar Source was because I also have a whole house auto-transfer Generac generator. Bryan Hammond with Solar Source was the only one that had a solution for solar to power my generator when the generator was powering my house.

It was the Chilicon Power inverters that made the difference. I had other solar companies swear to me that powering my generator wasn't even technically feasible, even after I told them their competition (Solar Source) had a solution. Now, having gone through the entire process from quoting to installation & having had the system running for 18 months, I can definitively recommend Bryan and Solar Source.

He was always quick to respond to questions during the process & I never felt like I was being "sold" anything. They even called me a few weeks after I went live to tell me a panel wasn't operating & came out to discover a problem with an inverter & replaced it. Everything with Solar Source was professional and managed very well. I am very happy I went solar and with Solar Source.

Great service and quality products. My solar hot water heater which came installed when my home was built, needed service and I was happy to find a reliable and knowledgeable company to help. They came and replaced the solar panel which was too far gone and then had to do some additional troubleshooting on the pump. It's good to know they are there to support me and help me understand how to maintenance my system to keep it in good shape. Five stars because they have always been there for my maintenance and support needs. They won't leave you to dry after your system is installed.

We recently had a solar pool heater installed and everything was great from start to finish. They did a good job explaining the process, keeping me informed of any updates and installation all went well. They took the time to explain everything, and I was very happy with my experience.

Our Salesman was Dave Kelley. He was very informative and very pleasant to deal with. The workers who installed the panels were friendly and conscience of their working ethics. They cleaned everything up and very careful. i highly recommend this company for pool solar panels.

I had my solar panel system installed at my home by Solar Source several years ago now. I've actually worked with them twice because I did my system in two stages. Both installs were completely excellent. I was very picky about the look of the end results and the folks at Solar Source allowed me to make drastic adjustments to the plan several times.

They recalculated all the statistics of the panel positions each time and explained it all to me. Their prices were competitive. I have virtually no bill for electricity. No problems at all. I definately recommend working with this company.

We opted to have solar heat and saltwater chlorinator installed. Solar Source was great. In home consultation from sales rep, no/low pressure discussion about options, pricing, installation, warranty. Made the decision to proceed a few days later and the rep did a follow-up call that day. Booked and they took care of everything. pictures, permits, scheduling, installation, cleanup, all went smoothly. Just a few days but all is working well and I am confident in the company and the warranty they offer.

Great experience from start to finish with my pool solar heating system. Works good of course using quality components, even the valves. Professional very experienced tech, nice looking completed job, easy to work with and explained everything.

I had a new roof put on and decided to also replace my old solar panels that have had a few leaks. Had one company offer me a fair price, but when I asked for information about their panels and if they were similar to HeliCoil, they did not get back to me. Living in a hurricane zone, I did not want panels that could catch the wind like a sail. I called Solar Source and they offered me a HeliCoil system with a warranty on the panels and roof leaks for $100 less. The installers did a great job and even repaired a few other problems with my plumbing.

System looks good and functions much better than my old system. encountered a bit of a problem with getting HOA approval but approval came just in time to stay on schedule. communication with the David was excellent. If system continues to function well during the next 20 years, I will be extremely satisfied.

Sales and Engineering worked with me to understand engineering details that most customers would not have even considered. Beginning with a flat built-up roof, half through it's life, a ballast mount was suggested. After considerable research I discovered the National Assoc. of Roofing Contractors (NARC) recommends a rigid mount system. Solar Source had no problem switching gears.

The final system, 11.5kW LG panels w/ SolarEdge digital inverter, is rigid mounted with the IronRidge flat roof system on a new roof - fully adhered fleece backed TPO. System installation is professional and clean.

Working with their sales rep (I worked with Chris B.) was easy and they were willing to discuss a number of options across solar water heat all the way through PV panels. They were responsive, and not pushy at all, especially given the length of time I took to figure it out. If I opt to install PV in the future, Solar Source will be the first people I call. Installation was clean any easy.

They gave a timeline, updated me at each step, and provided a clean installation. All said and done, it's nice to find contractors nowadays that don't need to be chased down, and instead can answer questions about options then show up when they said they would and do what they said they would do. Solar source did just that; made my life easy.

In August, one of our solar panels stopped producing; and we were unable to contact our prior support team. The hardware vendor, Solar Edge, advised that Solar Source would be the Solar Edge support in our area. We have been more than pleased with Solar Edge. The professional and support of Jose (service), Ryan (tech), and Jared (tech) getting our system updated and serviced has been great.

I also want to give special recognition to Ali (Alexandra Oquendo) who has communicated with us every time we needed assistance. We thank Solar Source for their great staff! We would rate them a 5+ if we could.

We received a comprehensive, detailed quote for both whole home solar and pool solar. We decided to move forward only with the pool solar, and could not be happier with the outcome. We found the sales person, Kris, to be exceptional in that he was knowledgeable and forthcoming, but never pushy. The team that came to install our pool solar were communicative, punctual, friendly and knowledgeable.

They were in and out in half a day, and hauled away our entire old solar system. The team lead, Juan, took time to explain how everything works, and even kindly re-wired it to my Easy Touch Pentair system instead of the old solar box. Juan took extra time with me to really be sure I understood how the system operates and repeatedly offered for me to call or follow up with any questions or concerns whatsoever. A 12-year warranty on the system is icing on the cake. It's a big investment, but I feel confident we selected the right company. Solar Source is excellent.

Solar Source is one of the most professional companies that I have had the pleasure to hire as a contractor. The sales process was smooth, honest and no hard sell. They were accommodating to what I needed to get done and at a reasonable price. Can't get a better solar panel than Heliocol solar panels. My original Helicol panels lasted over 25 Years. Installation was super. Great crew showed up on time and did a wonderful job on installing my panels. Couldn't be happier with Solar Source.

We are a repeat customer of Superior Solar through David Spanier. At our first house they installed a solar system for our pool. It was everything we had hoped for. David was responsive and even fixed an issue we had outside of warranty. We knew when it was time to install a solar pool heater at our home, he'd be the guy to call. Right before things shut down in March of 2020, we gave David a call and had our solar installed by Superior Solar as if we could predict the future.

We were so very thankful we did when schools closed and we were stuck at home with a 4 year old and a newborn. The pool immediately warmed up and we used it every day for months. They even took it upon themselves to fix an issue they found while installing the system that our pool builder never told us about. I doubt I will be buying another home and installing a pool but if I did, I would use David and Superior Solar again. If i'm in the market for Solar panels to offset my power bill, I know who to call as well.

Solar Source updated our system a few years ago and there has never been a problem. I have had Felix on property a couple of times to adjust the system, replace a sensor on the roof, and give me a tutorial on the control pad. On my last service call, the guys in the office told me how to bypass the automatic temperature control and manually open up the water flow to the panels so that the pool would warm up while a was waiting for the day for my scheduled service call.

They patiently walked me through it and told me to feel free to call back if I needed anything. Again, huge props to Felix for his professionalism, knowledge, and explanation of the way the system operates. I am ways get a follow-up text to ask about my satisfaction. If you need a new installation or servicing of a current one, Superior Solar really is superior!

I had been communicating with David for a long time to install a solar pool heater. He never came out to the home. He miscalculated money twice and was condescending and unreasonable when shown his mistakes. We were going to install 6 panels and got a quote. He upped the estimate on the Jan 1st. Then when we found 3 used panels so would only need to buy 3 from Superior Solar.

He refused to deduct the full amount of 3 panels and tried to add on new installation prices on top of the original estimate- basically charging installation twice. He refused to discuss basic math unless it made the price higher. The rest of the company may be better but I don't trust them because of David and will be finding a different company.

These guys are amazing. The installers care! They take the time to do it right and use better materials. They have a service department that answers the phone AND returns calls! Love my system!

Superior Solar did a great job installing our new solar pool heater. David is knowledgeable, professional, and followed up throughout the process. Spending a little extra for the solar controller was definitely worth it. The wife and kids love the warm pool. Late night dips are far more enjoyable now.

I wanted my pool solar panels installed on the retaining wall behind the pool, instead of the roof (looks better, one less thing to compromise the roof during a hurricane). They came up with a custom designed mounting system that was a very clean installation. The panel racks are mounted to the two retaining walls, so it's wide open and clear underneath for easy access. Installers were real pros and took great care to carefully replace my grass after running the pipes (when they were, you could barely tell where the trench was). The entire install took only two days. One install crew did everything. Great communication throughout. Very professional. I can highly recommend them.

What a great experience from beginning to end. Just had enough panels installed on my house that will cover all of my electric needs. The whole process was seamless from sales to installation. I have been interested in EV panels for many years. I have looked at many installations and by far Superior Solar is the best. Many systems installed by other companies make the house look ugly. I bought a pool solar heating system through Universal Solar, fast forward two years, my system was leaking and Universal shut down. I called a couple solar companies to fix my system and Superior Solar was by far the most professional, they showed up on time and only charged me the service fee and a couple bucks for the plugs to fix the leak. Very straight forward and honest, I highly recommend them.

Superior Solar claimed they were experts on pool solar, yet couldn't come up with a straight answer to any of my questions. THEN Superior Solar gave me a ridiculous ESTIMATE. I ESTIMATE that I'll be going with someone else for my solar system.

This review may be lengthy; however I want to explain why I recommend Superior Solar, my representative, Michael Boykin at Superior Solar, and how our system has been working. We are not rich, we drive older inexpensive cars, we are on a budget, and we are careful to consider purchases. I had been curious about solar for two reasons: it is good for the environment, and I thought if it was done correctly, the correct size, and with the correct bank loan, we could potentially be paying ZERO additional money to buy solar. Fortunately, the Federal Tax Credit of 30% made installing a solar PV system on our home possible with what I was trying to achieve financially.

Currently we have had our system long enough that I can compare the data. I have been collecting data from each electric bill we receive and comparing the KWh usage per month with solar power vs. last year's data (without solar). I don't want to disclose my financial details on this review (bank loan APR, total system cost, actual tax credit), but I do want to share that only 6 months of data has shown that I have been paying only $7 per month (actual number): For example, (not actual numbers for privacy): My average savings with solar has been $98 per month and my monthly payment to the bank to pay off the solar has been $105 per month. AND keep in mind, that I OWN the system.

Once my loan is paid off, I will not have to pay close to anything for electric! And right now, instead of paying $100 to the electric company I am paying $100 to pay the loan. Almost ZERO additional money to buy Solar. I had worked the numbers and potential savings for months trying to determine if this could be a reality. That is where Superior Solar's unbelievable customer service comes in. Michael Boykin is who I worked with at Superior Solar. Michael made me feel like I was his only priority.

I must have emailed him 1-4 times a day with the most random questions. He promptly and professionally replied to each query. And many times, on the weekends or late at night. He took his time on the phone and on email correspondence to help me understand solar, the costs, benefits, and the science of solar. I highly recommend speaking Michael Boykin at Superior Solar.

I never felt pressure from him. Michael knew that the solar system would sell itself, I just had to keep asking the questions and doing the research to convince myself. I honestly kept thinking, "This is too good to be true. there must be a catch". I decided that the only way to really know for sure was to just do it. And here I am, with all this data now showing me that there is no catch.

It was a smart financial decision. As a neat benefit, our system comes with the ability to plug a power chord directly into the inverter when the grid power goes down. Our solar is tied into the main city electric grid. When the grid power went down a couple months ago, I plugged into my system directly and could power our refrigerator and several other appliances.and, I had power to spare.

I was in the process of running an extension chord to our neighbor's house to give them power when the grid power finally did come back on. Nobody had to think about trying to dig the gas-powered generator out of the garage, put gas in it, make all that noise. we just plugged in and were back in business! And we were the heroes of the neighborhood who still had cold sodas and ice!

Above and beyond - the simplest words I could use to describe Universal Solar. My fiance and I purchased our home 2 months ago. The home came equipped with a beautiful underground, screened-in pool. But I'm a Florida girl - born and raised - and ultimately could not take the 84 degree water in the middle of July. So, we called a few solar heating companies, some more sketchy than others, and then met Sam Smith at Universal Solar.

We were sold immediately. He knew the right product for us, at the right price and seemed overall trustworthy. The installation process with Jason went great; however, we hit a few bumps in the road. Bumps that caused some other bigger issues. Universal Solar and their management team (Richard, etc.) was extremely responsive to the mishaps and immediately (and I do mean immediately) sent their team to correct the issue. Additionally, they threw in a few freebies for us to make us completely satisfied. They really went above and beyond the call of duty. I would definitely use Universal Solar for any future solar heating needs. We are very happy with our warmer pool!

He delivered on his promise of a quality product with professional installers and my family and I look forward to many fun days in our newly solar heated pool. What a great investment! David Spanier and Superior Solar are awesome! Once we made the decision to have a solar system installed for our 30,000+ gallon pool, the system was installed within a few days and by the end of the following week, the temperature of our pool went up 10 degrees. We had some questions after the initial installation and their quick response and customer service is top notch! We've had the system for a year now and we're loving it. Even with some cold days in March, the kids have been in the pool almost every weekend for the last month. I can't recommend this company enough!

Superior Solar installed the Heliocol system 9 years ago and we couldn't be happier. David Spanier was great to work with through the whole process. We had a slight problem at install which caused some water damage to an interior ceiling, but David and Superior Solar acted quickly, took care of the problem, and fixed the damage. They've been very responsive with all follow up issues and questions.

Out of 3 different companies, Universal Solar was not only the most affordable but they were also very knowledgeable and very professional. I loved that they were not pushy in trying to sell us their equipment, but instead took their time explaining and answering any questions we had. I totally recommend Universal Solar. We worked with Sam Smith who was great and extremely efficient- everything was completed just as he said. Everything looks great and we got to enjoy our pool in December!

We got FOUR estimates from four local companies, and they had the lowest estimate. Universal Solar has exceeded our expectations. When we had additional questions, Nick Arceneaux made time in his schedule to come by and answer them. Jason Reale and Shaun Newell were professional and helpful. They corrected existing mistakes in our plumbing and electrical systems, making it all look and work perfectly, and they also carted off the old heater.

Nothing was left out of place; everything looked far better than when they started. They were able to complete the job sooner than we anticipated. Even in cloudy, cool weather, we have already enjoyed swimming in late November and early December. We are so pleased to have a free, infinite source of heat for our winter swimming. Back in July 2014 I let David Spanier show me the Heliocol product compared against the others (he has samples of the products for you to see and touch). I could quickly see why the Heliocol product is superior and I was so impressed I bought the solar water heater and the solar fan too. Then came the installation and service -- yup, fast, flawless, friendly folks have followed up, showed up and fixed up the two minor problems I've encountered. I recommend Superior Solar -- Super(-ior) people you can trust.

My husband and I installed a new Infinity edge pool on our property in Clermont, Florida. Artesian Pools did the installation and Tony Allo, their designer recommended that we give David Spanier, from Superior Solar a call for the installations of the solar panels on the roof that would be used to heat the spa/hot tub. We interviewed three companies and opted to go with Superior Solar.

The sent a representative out to the house to look at the property and evaluate the needs for the number of panels based on the exposure. They completed their estimate very quickly. We set up an appointment and they were here right on schedule. They worked so quietly that you didn't even realize that they were here. All of the work was executed in a very timely fashion, and more importantly it was done well, and they cleaned up completely.

When they left, you wouldn't have even known anyone was here. They were timely, efficient and very professional. A few months later we noticed a little water dripping from the roof. We called them to ask what they thought it was, they came right out and corrected a very small leak that had developed. Their customer service is Superior, just like their name.

We are in the process of looking into more panels for electrical purposes and our only call will be to Superior Solar. I would not hesitate to recommend Superior Solar for your solar panel needs.

Have had solar for eight years, the warranty is like 12 years. Had a leak in solar panel and the nice guy fixed it under warranty. So glad I had the warranty. their workers are very friendly people. Granted its just pvc like material but good to have long warranty.

After receiving 3 quotes from different solar heat dealers, I decided to go with the company who sent the guy with the sweetest smile:-) His name is David Spanier. He promised me that the solar addition would absolutely change my life, and it did! We had our pool built last summer, and not once did I swim because it always seemed to have a bit of a chill on it that I just couldn't get past my knees.

My kids didn't care about how cold the water was, they just enjoy pools, period. Well this year I decided to take the plunge and have a solar system put in. We couldn't afford to have the optimal amount of panels added at this time so we went with 8 panels instead of the 10 which was advised for our size pool. We do have the option to add the remaining panels at a later date which is a fact that I love, but I don't think we'll be needing them.

Its been 2 months now and my pool temperature is constantly hovering anywhere between 88- 95 degrees, and I have been in my pool more times in these 2 months than in the entire year that we've had the pool. The addition of solar heat was the best decision we could have made, making our pool worth so much more to the entire family now! And we still hear from David from time to time just checking in to see if we're still enjoying our solar and to see if we have any questions about anything.

Now thats another review for "service after the sale";-) Oh, and as for the life changing situation. I've taught myself how to swim! Yayyyy. Thanks Superior Solar for a superior product and a wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly salesman/new friend.
