Services
Automatic pool cover systems are mechanical devices with components that have a finite expected life. Service calls are normal about every 5 years, on average. There is a wide range of experience so far as service requirements go. Some customers have gone 18+ years since installation without needing attention!
For a variety of reasons, we at Ellis' Pool Safety Covers do not recommend using automatic pool covers as winter covers. A separate, dedicated winter cover is almost always the best way to go. Safety mesh covers have proven to be a great solution for the snowy New England winter season. These covers look terrific, are a true safety barrier, and last a very long time (some have lasted 30+ years!).
Water can get trapped on top of the fabric in the area between the fabric roll and the inside of the mechanism enclosure. Get the water out, and wind the cover on the roll as much as you can by hand. Try closing the cover normally. On topguide applications, the tracks may need to be cleaned. With the pool cover all the way open, start at the pool cover mechanism and use a garden hose to rinse out the tracks the cover travels in.

Terrible experience. Called and talked to Rick and he gave me details. They won't give you the quote over the phone and make u get quote through your pool guy. Then if you have questions you can't get them on the phone even if you leave a note. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who is concerned with customer service or having your questions answered.

I called several months ago, was scheduled and patiently waited. I called to check in a day prior and was told i was still on schedule. Day one went by, day two and day three. NO SHOWS. Keep in mind i called each day for a status update and was informed they were on the way with slight delays. I called spoke to a manager today and was told i needed to be rescheduled but not sure when.

This is the "go to" place for automatic pool covers. If you are using a pool company, make sure they contract with Ellis for the pool cover - then you will know for sure you are getting the best quality. They salvaged/fixed a partial job done by someone else and are extremely professional, affordable and most importantly, competent.

WORST COMPANY EVER! Do not work with Ellis please read Yelp reviews also. My original cover was not working correct and I got so frustrated with Ellis' customer service several years ago I just stopped using it. But last year decided to go ahead & replace the cover. bad decison, it's been a year of no-show appointments, & thousands of $ to have a new cover installed, now it continually breaks, and I've been unable to schedule a service appointment.
I have just been told I'm "RUDE" and they will no long service my pool. All because I kept calling/emailing for an appointment for a broken cover that they installed and repaired! One star is more than they deserve.

I had an excellent experience working with Ellis Pool Covers and would highly recommend their company. We purchased a winter safety cover and required all new anchors to be installed/drilled. It was a very efficient & professional process from ordering through installation. We were happy with the cover and high quality work done by the crew. I even noticed them using a level on each of the new anchor points! We appreciated their timely arrival and accurate estimate of how long the installation would take.
