The Pool Shed was established in 1972 and is owned and operated by the Surette brothers Eric, Adam, and Shawn. After 45 years in the in-ground swimming pool business, we are happy to say our company has grown beyond expectations. The Pool Shed will be transitioning the construction portion of our business to Mowry Brothers Pools.
The Pool Shed offers professional pool services to residential and commercial in-ground swimming pools. Our services include vacuuming, chemical balancing, and washing vinyl walls, and we also take a pool sample back to our store to be analyzed. Residential customers can also take advantage of our bi-monthly program for regular pool maintenance.
When the warmer weather in Maine finally rolls around, you may be getting excited about swimming season, but other outdoor chores may be holding you back from tackling the pool opening process. At our retail store, we carry a full line of pool supplies for all of your needs. From covers and floats to games and so much more, you will find everything you need for your pool all in one location. In order for a proper pool shock or pool maintenance, you will need top-of-the-line swimming pool chemicals and pool supplies to ensure your pool is always sparkling and has a proper pH balance for the safety of your swimmers. At The Pool Shed in Maine, we carry our own line of chemicals made specifically for our customers.

The Pool Shed has taken the time to teach me how to properly care for our pool after purchasing a new house. They're always available, even in the winter, to answer questions and help where they can. Their home delivery makes it very convenient to get supplies. I'll only use them for maintenance and water quality checks! Absolute professionals. We purchased a home with an in ground pool 3 years ago, and have never maintained or owned a pool before this. They have walked us through maintenance, replaced a failed heater, patched lining and replaced a failing pump as well. Responsive, friendly and extremely helpful- I can't recommend them enough.

The Pool Shed is awesome! I've used them from everything from closing the pool to opening the pool and everything in between! They really know their stuff and I never have felt they were trying to cheat me in any way. The guys are great and provide excellent customer service! Tech came and put cover on pool but never called to advise he had no way of securing it until I called later. Came home and cover was floating in middle of pool. I guess we felt that hiring a professional company would mean communication or options on covering the pool properly. We would have gladly purchased a new cover if that was the issue, but the tech seemed in a huge hurry to get out.
In addition, I discovered the float layer was not installed with no explanation. This is our first in ground pool, so if this is the norm in terms of quality, we will certainly be doing it ourselves in the future. We have worked with Hillside Pool and Spa in West Paris and they are excellent! I have showed them the pictures and they have expressed that this is completely unprofessional and poor business because again, we would have gladly purchased a new cover had that helped this situation. I am looking to have a new pool installed. I had been shopping for a contract at multiple other pool dealers over a few weeks. I was either told they were not performing quotes, or they would take my name and get back to me. No one ever got back to me (three months ago). When I walked into the Pool Shed on a Saturday at the end of October I was not optimistic even with the great reviews I had read online.
I was immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter and shared my needs. He spent the time reviewing their history, their partnership with Mowry Brothers, and general options available. Sunday (the next day) his brother was at my house to determine if my yard would be a good fit for a pool and reviewing options. With the service I received and professionalism I was shown I was ready to proceed. I booked my service that week. The one down-side, they are booked solid through next summer. I will update once I have had the pool installed.

We put in a pool this year. As with everything else, I did my research. The name that kept coming up for a quality product and great customer service was The Pool Shed. From our first meeting with Eric, to our "pool school" with Shawn, we were completely impressed. Each and every day during the installation process, an owner was on sight and working to insure things were completed to their very high standards.
Everyone on their crew was professional, courteous and definitely knew their roll in the process very well. Even after completion, they were more than happy to answer questions and help with water testing issues. There is no doubt that an in ground pool is an expensive investment. I would not suggest you select your company by price alone. Make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
There were many items included with the price of our pool from The Pool Shed, which others considered extras. More importantly; however, is the fact that everyone we talked to who had their pool installed by The Pool Shed had only positive things to say about the experience, the quality of their pool, and consistent great customer service long after the install. We would highly recommend The Pool Shed!
