Critical: Professionalism, Quality The owner of this company is beyond arrogant. Customer service is terrible. They send young guys out to do work who barely have any experience beyond pool cleaning. I will absolutely never use this company again. Just bad. Services: Swimming pool equipment maintenance, Winterization, General repairs & maintenance, Swimming pool equipment repair, Swimming pool water analysis, Cleaning

Met with owner for estimate and he was 20 minutes late for appointment. We talked for about 30 minutes and gave him list of exactly what I wanted for my new inground pool project. I was promised a response with pricing on Monday and it was never received. I followed up with email and voicemail and still no response. Very unprofessional and disrespectful that they ignore customers and do not follow through on their word.

Do Not use this company. Yes they had the most reasonable pricing, but they do not stick to their schedule or contract. You think your pool is underway, then all of a sudden no one shows up. They go to another pool! Fine but no one says anything to you. Pool is finally complete although the medium that I PAID for was not used on the patio. After contacting him quite a few times, I get a lawyer, he tells my lawyer that you cannot use the medium that I PAID for on that stone. Surprise! Pat brought me to a pool to look at WITH that medium.
He said to me after seeing that patio, "you would want that" Do you know how much work that is? So needless to say I came home from work early one day and see his workers not putting in the patio to my contract specifications and they tell me "this is better" No, it's not. I have gotten sink holes, weeds etc. Newtown Pools said they'd fix all sink holes.
Last year it took him from April (when I told him of the massive hole) to August to fix it! Told him of children coming and upcoming parties, didn't matter. Then tells he'd call someone to have my patio sealed. He never did, and ignored my calls and emails. I could go on forever. Do not use this company. I too am not using my name.

This guy ghosted us. How awful and unprofessional. Owner came over three weeks ago for estimate and still waiting for one. Could have at least answered my emails to say he hasn't gotten to it. Got him on phone and had no idea who we were. Told us "oh I maybe probably did an estimate but didn't send it." Well that's great thanks. total waste of our time. Call a real company. The worst thing you can say about a business is that they don't follow through on what they said they would do. Take your money elsewhere.

I had the misfortune of calling in on a day when a gentleman picked up the phone and it struck me that he was in a bad mood, or did not want to deal with my question about a product I wanted to purchase. I believe in giving everyone their fair share and I know we can all have bad days. Goodness knows I've had mine. I went to the store, and the woman and younger man were pleasant with me, but when they called the gentleman out (the one I spoke to on the phone) he walked out, looked me straight up and down right in front of his staff and without regard to how that makes a woman feel.
One thing men must learn is that women do NOT like this, it is uncomfortable, rude, sexist and interrupts the flow of customer experience, to say the least. The gentleman did not want to help his staff when his female staff member went back a total of 4 times to ask him to identify the particular part that I needed for my pool hose. I thought at first that they were playing a prank on each other (again thinking the best of people), only to see that the woman was quite upset with his reaction to her just trying to do her job in assisting in identifying the part I needed.
Each and every time she left his office she shut the door with force, clearly exasperated and even commented in front of me (quite audibly) about his mood and behavior. I decided to just ride through this song and dance simply because I needed the part. I got home and it was the wrong part. I don't even want to go back to the store and fact this mood again and simply the worst customer service I feel I have ever experienced.
And for the record, I showed the gentleman the pool part that I needed replaced- I took the liberty of bringing it in my car, attached to a long hose, so as to avoid any issues in replacing the correct part. He could have cared less in helping me or helping his staff and when I got home, after taking the time out of my busy day to replace the part, I saw it was the wrong part.
This is neglect of a customer of the highest degree and now I have wasted my money. Had he have taken the time, the courtesy and done his job in the first place and actually listened to his employee asking him over and over for the correct part based on his eye witness account of what needed replacing then I would have my pool working right now. I don't know what's worse- the misogyny, the blatant sexism, the reductive nature towards his staff or the complete neglect of a customer whom went out of her way to bring the part in needed for accurate identification so as to buy a new one.
I am now paying in my time and with my money for what I believe was a twilight zone experience to say the least. I am using a different username on this post to protect my identity but he knows who I am so responding that I never went there or he can't see me in his records is utter nonsense. Never ever going back there. Ladies watch out for this one- they still live and breathe in Newtown!

Pat and the guys at Newtown were great! Responsive and knowledgeable at a fair price. Ordered our liner had it before promised date the guys were all so nice. Pete and his crew of installers did a fantastic job without hesitation. Answered all our questions and were just kind people. Don't think twice call Pat for a pool! Service: Remodeling

Had our liner replaced recently. Work seems solid. Work started just over a week after the ETA start date, however I am guessing due to COVID19 and delays that the liner took longer to receive. Owner Pat came over after business hours to get the pump in the pool to remove the water making sure there were no more delays, which was very nice. Work started two days later and they got the job done in two days! Very nice!

Worst customer service! Fired today effective immediately. Pat is perpetually rude and unresponsive. I have never worked with a more unprofessional, and belligerent business owner. I have no idea what these guys did. Bought house with a pool right around the corner from Newtown Pools. Because it was so late in the season, Newtown Pools agreed they would come every day starting early July to get it up and running. I'm lucky if they show up once a week.
We call or stop in, they don't show up, 6 times and counting. We have not been in the pool yet this season. There is still sand on the bottom and leaves despite being vacuumed twice! Last guy here just left the hose on when no one was home! Said he'd leave a note to say if it was safe to go in. No note. Horrendous service. I know Pat will jump in and call me a liar like he does everyone who gives bad reviews.
But bad service is bad service. Rude behavior is plain rude. Fired is still fired. Moved on to another company who has already vacuumed and gotten rid of the sand and leaves and is testing the water for safety. Go elsewhere for service.

Really happy with the service we recently got from Newtown Pools. First, I was opening the pool, and sadly realized that we needed a new pump motor assembly. Pat went over the replacement options with us, and he was focused the entire time on how to do the repair as cost-effectively as possible for our situation. He never once tried to up-sell us.
We were able to have the part replaced, and the work done, quickly, and for as reasonable a price as one could hope for. A week later, there was an air issue in our water circulation system. I did the common-sense gasket checks, which did not fix the problem. I was fearing the wor$t, when I called Newtown Pools. A service crew was out the next day, and they pinpointed the issue, which turned out to be a common-sense, and not too expensive, fix. I highly recommend Newtown Pools!

I was told that I needed to replace my pool heater and jandy antenna became the parts no longer made when in reality they both only needed main electrical rely boards. Their estimate was over 7000$ and I got the work done for 2000. Pat, It's quote number 1919 dated 4/11/19. Crystal Told me that everything needed to be replaced because the "parts are no longer available".
Your quote was for $7263.71. The filter needed to be replaced because the drain threads were stripped. You have been servicing my pool for the past 8-9 years. So who's responsible for the heavy handed wrenching? What I love about your "estimate " was all of the items that were "not included and to be determined at Instalation " like "pvc pipe, fittings and values ".
Who do you think your dealing with? I had the heater main main board, Jandy antenna and a new 31" 500lbs sand filter installed for $2208.96. That price included all new PVC pipe, fittings and a brand new multiport value. It has always been a chore to deal with you and Crystal. You look for any and every opportunity to fleece you clients. Even when I have paid you for your Total, all inclusive annual package for an in ground pool with Spa ($4100.00), last year you still billed my CC for an Emergency Service when I was in titled to two or three free Emergency service calls as part of your all inclusive pkgs.
When I called you about the bill you gruffly told me that you didn't consider a "No Heat" situation as an Emergency. I was amused by your audacity but didn't push the issue as I don't like to quibble with contractors over a petty $90.00 issues. Have a nice life guys. -Michael Paul

We asked Newtown Pools to look at a pool at a house we were purchasing to let us know the it was in good working order. We kept getting different responses about the condition ranging from it's good to go to we need a new filter to there's a $1200 leak. The response about the leak was going to be covered as part of the sale of the house until the seller's lawyer spoke to Pat from Newtown Pools. Pat then told us he was wrong and there's no leak. Long story short, we have a pool with a leak and Pat stopped responding.

Newtown Pools sent a technician to my home in less than 24 hours after my call to replace a pool pump. Rick completed the job in under an hour and the new pump is working fine. Thank you, Crystal and Rick, for your excellent service! You gained a new customer and we will be scheduling our future pool closings and openings with you.

If I could give leas than one star I would. This is the most unprofessional business I have ever worked with. Not only do they not stand by their work but they have proven to me over and over again that they will not show up on time or commit to a reasonable schedule. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

Very bad customer service. I called Pat to come out and give me an estimate for fixing my broken liner (not installed by them) and opening my pool in April. He came out on April 29th and said he could have my pool open by Memorial Day. I was initially impressed with his plan and estimate so I decided to use him and not another popular pool company.
I signed and received the proposal from him within two weeks and HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK. I called them twice a week and even stopped by the location in mid June to see if they were still coming out to do the work. NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL. It is now past mid July. I could understand if he called me and said they were busy and he would get to me soon. NOTHING.

We had a pool put in last summer by Newtown Pools. I can only say great things about our experience with this pool company. Everything with Newtown pools went smoothly and timely. When there were permit issues with the town (which there ALWAYS are) owner, Pat McDougall, was on top of it. The crew worked hard putting our pool in and at the end of the season did a great job closing it up. Newtown Pools (Pat McDougall) did EVERYTHING that was laid out for us before we began.
The pool looks fabulous and we are very eager for the weather to get nicer so we may go for a swim. I can't thank Newtown Pools enough and I have nothing, but great things to say about them. Victoria
