Services
The best part about having your swimming pool is taking a dip any time you want to. However, it also comes with the responsibility of pool cleaning and maintenance. Aside from keeping the swimming pool beautiful, you also want the water to be clean and safe for swimming. Tile cleaning is an essential part of pool maintenance.
Are you building a new swimming pool or renovating it? Elevate the look and functionality of your swimming pool by choosing the interior finish to match your lifestyle and personality. Explore the different pool finishes to find out which one is best for you. Each type comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages.
Use a skimmer with a long handle to gather anything that floats on the surface of the water - leaves, bugs, and other debris. Removing them before they sink to the bottom of the pool may help prevent stains. If there are trees around the pool, consider pruning or trimming them to reduce the number of leaves that fall into the water.
Owning a swimming pool should be fun. We can design a swimming pool that fits your lifestyle and needs. From the most basic pool design to a luxurious pool paradise, the only limit is your imagination. Swimming pools are not like other purchases. You can't just return or exchange them if you're not completely satisfied.

Corby did the pool inspection for our house. They had great details in their inspection. We have since had them take care of our weekly service. Their staff is wonderfully friendly. They're willing to do a lot over the phone and saved us when the pump broke while we were out of town. Highly recommend them!

Every interaction with this company turns into a drama. We needed a new filter, the owner came round and yelled at us for twenty minutes. Then agreed to a deal which he later went back on, charging considerably more. Every single thing is like this. The actual maintenance depends entirely on the tech - some are good, some not - just like any company. Do yourself a favor, go to a maintainer who doesn't turn everything into a drama.

We hired Corby Pools to replace our broken pool cover. At first, the new cover was installed, however it was clearly over sized with large wrinkles. The installers simply stated that it would just take time to shrink to the right size. We contacted Tully, the manager, and he immediately said he would inspect it and make sure it was done right. It took a while, since they uninstalled the over sized cover and cut it down but then it was too small. Unprompted, they then re-ordered another pool cover to make sure we had a good fit. Tully was very quick and professional in his response and gave us all assurances that the final product would be done correctly and ultimately without much effort on our part, we have a beautiful pool cover.

These guys totally ripped us off. We had them come out to replace our heater, pump, and filter a few years ago. I was never happy with the work in the first place as they did a really janky installation of the venting and an ugly hack into our roof. Now the heater has broken and the folks trying to repair it say it was out of manufacture for several years before it was even installed, and there's no parts available. EVEN WORSE, the heater was smaller than you'd use for a spa, and undersized by 3 for our pool.

I had used Corby Gould Pools a few years ago to re-fiberglass our pool. The work was done above our expectations. Recently there was a seam separation at the tile mark. After a call and inspection, repairs were made at no cost to me, even though the warranty had expired. I appreciate the integrity of Corby and his company. It is rare nowadays to find a business that will stand by their work.

I had major cracks in my pool. I used a scuba crack filling company and it worked for a little while. I then called to get it fixed again when water levels were getting lower and lower fast but they didn't guarantee their work. I reached out to a friend who recommended Corby Pools. Their quote was lower and guaranteed. I couldn't be happier with their service and would recommend them to anyone who needs pool repair. I love my new finish on the pool and cant wait till Summer.

Had them try and repair a pool heater. $700 later the heater worked for awhile and then went out again. For over two months I tried to get Ed back out to see what was going on. I finally gave up, he clearly didn't want to have anything to do it, and I had another pool company out and they found that a heat sensor Corby Gould replaced was for different model heater. Now, another $400 later the heater works fine. Really disappointed in Corby Gould service since I never balked at paying their bill even though Ed replaced a bunch of parts that might not have been needed to be replaced

Corby built a new pool for us. They did a terrific job in all aspects. I highly recommend them. First of all, we got 2 bids, and they were a lot less expensive than the other guy. I was afraid that would mean that lots of little things would be extra - but it was exactly the opposite. The price included everything that you would expect, even some high end finishes.
They were very flexible, and would do anything I wanted, even at the last minute in the field. Peter (the main point of contact during construction) is great. There were only 2 delays - waiting for the permits from the city, and waiting for the bluestone coping delivery. Other than that, they showed up every day, and the project moved along very quickly. Corby even showed up at my house on a Saturday to do the final turn-on of the pool.
The pool turned out beautifully. (Can I attach a picture?) We've been swimming in it for 3 weeks now, and we love it. So in summary: great quality, good value (for the Bay Area anyway;-) ), and very flexible and responsive.

I have know Corby for 20 years and he has always gave me great advice about my pool and the service it needed. I recently installed a water softener (a totally new pool system) and they were on time, value priced and did a great job. Thanks Corby for the personalized service also. I am in my own business and understand about retaining your good customers. Thank you for the great service. Alan Cezar customer for life!

Corby Gould is the BEST! We live in Los Altos Hills and a concrete contractor without our knowing it, tied our deck to the pool, causing many cracks and finally splitting the pool. After speaking to many pool companies, we realized Corby knew more about pools and solving problems than any of them! In fact, he came up with solutions that were better and less expensive than any other pool company we contacted which were many!
He has just finished the pool in two weeks, corrected all the problems, at a fair price and done a beautiful job. He was always on top of the job from very early in the morning until the evening. He responds immediately to questions. His men are hard working also, considerate and knowledgeable. You are very fortunate if Corby works on your pool.

I agree with several of the previous reviewers. They really don't care about their reputation. Corby himself knows pools. I don't doubt that. But they are sloppy and unprofessional. I own several homes in the Bay Area and work with contractors, subcontractors, and service providers all the time. I usually love everyone and am incredibly grateful to people who do things I don't want to do.
But the whole attitude of Corby Gould's company is "This isn't worth my time. Why are you bothering me?" The billing department is erratic, but I can roll with that. The service guy actually shows up on time and puts chemicals in the pool. That's good. But honestly? The first time something goes wrong, you'll want to strangle these guys.
Save yourself the trouble. Hire someone else. It's sort of amazing to run into a company that doesn't worry about social media. How many times can Corby irritate customers to the point that we actually go write yelp reviews, and still stay in business?

They are too busy for new clients, so it seems their poor rating and reputation don't really matter to them. We tried for four weeks to set up an appointment for over $4K worth of work. They said they were booked but would call me in a week to put something on calendar. Even if booked, why could they not put something on calendar for when the schedule freed up?
Why did they have to be unbooked before they could even schedule something? Nonetheless, I continued to reach out for the next few weeks, then gave up and went with another service.

We had Corby inspect a pool at a house that we were evaluating for purchase. His report stated that the pool was in fine condition, and even had a line item that indicated that the "tiles" were in good condition. Within two months of purchase several tiles had fallen out and were on the bottom of the pool. Looking closer it became apparent that there was a whole row of tiles that were starting to pop-up because the nearby ground was settling (many of the tiles in that row were somewhat crooked and loose to the touch. some of them were also showing minor cracks).
These tiles were all above the water line and clearly visible to anyone who would look at them closely. Not only did it turn out to be a waste of money paying Corby for the so called inspection, but we now have to pay for the pool repairs ourselves, whereas if we had known about this prior to the purchase, we could have negotiated the repair cost with the sellers.

Corby isa good guy who has been in the pool remodeling business forever. He is really honest but will not negotiate on price.period. He says he uses Adams to do his Pebbletec/sheen sub contracting(a plus). I was set to go with him until I found Aqua Gunite, who also sells genuine Pebbletec and does their own work at a lower price. They did a great job. I would still recommend talking with Corby too.

I agree with the reviewer who asked 'what kind of company makes you feel like you're an interruption when you call them for service?' This is one of the most disorganized, inefficient and unprofessional companies I've ever had to deal with. Over the course of this summer, our new pool and spa have needed repairs twelve times! It takes days to get them to call you back, then maybe they'll come and maybe not, and then two days later the pool isn't working again. We are done with Corby Pools. Advice: go elsewhere.

Corby Pools remodeled our pool, complete with new plumbing, equipment and plaster/tile. Though there were some communication snafus with the backoffice, I found everyone who worked for Corby Pools very capable and competent. Peter C. was our contact for this project, and he was just great to work with. Very attentive and responsive. The quote Corby provided was quite competitive, in line with two others we got.
We decided to go with Corby, based on his reputation in the area. Bottom line, we are very happy with the project outcome. Not quite five stars due to the back office issues, more like 4.5, but realistically nobody is perfect (beware of all the enthusiastic five star reviews on Yelp). I recommend Corby Pools (make sure to get Corby's cell # when you meet him). Also, I'd recommend working with Peter C. if you decide to hire them.

I cannot speak for Corby's actual work because we never got to that point. I can speak for the home office. I called and sent 2 emails asking for a written quote including the payment schedule. I am certainly not paying for an entire job up front especially given the problems I've had with the responsiveness of the office. Over a month after they came out and 3 weeks since my first request for a written quote, I still don't have that quote. Needless to say I am looking elsewhere but I'm disappointed because I liked Corby when I met him and he had great ratings.

Corby Pools Inc did a pool inspection for one of my listings this past month and they did a fantastic job. The report was well written and easy for the seller and buyer to understand. They were professional, prompt, and had the report to me quickly. Additionally, the price was very fair. Thank you for being an excellent vendor!

Got Corby for pool inspection as well had his guy - Jeff Groom, for pool fencing. Overall, great service. The pool inspection was a bit conservative, hence 1 star less. But that's just what inspectors as I am finding out - be quite conservative. Anyways, this review is more about the fencing, than the inspection. Jeff did a great job on giving me an estimate and stuck to the same for the most part.
I had gotten a fence of Craigslist and had it installed from Jeff. Jeff diligently spent enough time to plan it, talk us through the pros & cons of the gate locations and tried to maximize the use of the fence. The fence looks great and it was a clean job, with no mess left behind.
